A Belated Happy Birthday To Edgar Allan Poe, The Inventor Of The Modern Detective Story


A day late, but happy birthday to one of America's finest writers, Edgar Allan Poe.

Poe was born on January 19, 1809.

He was a poet and a critic and he was is credited with inventing the modern detective story with his 1841 short story, The Murders in the Rue Morgue.
